Tallapoosa, Georgia - An opossum, on on odd years. “It kind of started out as a joke”, said organizer Kate Gardner. “But now it’s grown to one of the biggest events we have”.
Seaside Heights, New Jersey - Nicole Polizzi (a.k.a. “Snooki” from the TV series Jersey Shore) in a ball (2011).

This is kind of messed up
Number of times a place from each state(/continent) is mentioned in the wikipedia article on kolaches.
Texas, 28 times Nebraska, 3 times Oklahoma, 2 times Minnesota, 2 times Europe, 2 times Iowa, 1 time
They even mention the suburb I live in.
I had no idea kolaches were a Texas thing. I thought everyone had them, or made a big deal about them, or something.
Why does my mac think kolache isn't a word?

In classroom C-230, students and the professor turned to stare at Lépine when he entered. Listen up, he told them. Women to one side of the room, men get out. No one moved until Lépine fired into the ceiling. Then the men left the room. Alone with nine women, Lépine said, “I am here to fight against feminism. That is why I am here.”

Let me just start out by saying that Pajama Sam was my childhood. I spend hours and hours playing those games. Our minds were one and together. I even had a Pajama Sam T-shirt that I wore probably more often that was socially acceptable.
So I crack open the game for the first time in…

I mentioned to my dad at some point that I ate couscous at Cate’s house. He told me today that this and this alone inspired him to buy us couscous for dinner for the first time ever in our house.
